emerging fashion designers

responsibilities by Megan Klamroth.

Wake up, coffee, shower, more coffee and go! A “day” in the world of a fashion designer ends until your piece is about to be presented (as many hours as that might take). Then press play and move forward, next collection plans start.

The creative process of producing a moment that has been in your head and convert it into a reality takes long hours and a lot of hard work. Fashion is a communication channel, and your message is delivered through your designs.

As a designer you put yourself in the shoes of people that came before you. What has been done and what you can do now. Looking back for history, but always moving forward.
Fashion tells the truth about the world´s situation through different points of time and view. You can tell what´s happening in the world through it.
Culture and fashion go hand-by-hand influencing one another.

I believe that as a young designer the job to get done is to analyze what is happening now, and the way you represent it with sincere emotion for other people can connect to the sensibility and attitude of your collection. To be aware of your surroundings, and be involved in all the possible aspects of art is the key.

“If you invest in art, if you study yourself art, you become a freedom fighter immediately, because your life changes, you get off the consumer treadmill, you start thinking.”
Vivienne Westwood

I believe that we live in a very interesting time for emerging designers to start redirecting the path of fashion. With the streets, sports and music becoming a clear center of inspiration, the possibilities to explore and connect with a modern culture are truly infinite.
